Letters Home by Rebecca Brooke
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book was great but be prepared to cry. For the first half of the book I was doing that slow cry things. You know one tear and a time. This story is heartbreaking at times and wonderful at others. Danielle meets the man of her dreams in high school. Nate and Danielle were inseparable since the day they meet. She was surprised and a little upset when he joined the Army when they were college but they learned how to make it work. Now nine years later he has finally proposed. This is where the story takes a turn. Will Danielle learn how to cope with this new turn in her life or will she simply stop living? So much happens in this book. For as sad as it was to read at parts other parts had you feeling so much love that you couldn’t wait to see what else happens. Danielle has so much to overcome in this book. She learns so much about how strong she is and how much she has to give. She must deal with guilt, new feelings, and so many other things. She her friends want to help her as much as they can. But, you can only help someone so much and then they have to do the rest. Sometimes Dani needs a push to get over that last little part. She needs someone to point out what she has been subconsciously overlooking or ignoring. I really loved this story and I can’t wait to read the follow up book Coming Home to read more about the characters and what happens next. I look forward to reading other books by Rebecca in the future.
