Dante's POV

Flexing my fingers, I strode into the alleyway, keeping to the shadows.
"Move away from him." My steady, low-pitched voice hung in the humid air, arms stilled at my sides.
"This is none of your business, mister," the man Carl had approached in the club spoke as he straightened to his full height.
A large man, he stood wider than me and built like a wrestler. Same as his friend. They reminded me of an old nursery rhyme I’d read as a kid—Tweedledee and Tweedledum.
"I'll walk away if you let him come with me." The negotiator in me held court. In my line of work, this skill had saved my skin more times than I could count. Especially since it distracted the adversary into thinking I lacked the physical strength to back it up.
"Not until we're done here."
One look into Carl's rounded and pleading eyes and I switched tactics, stepping into their space.
Tweedledee growled and charged, swinging his arms.
My reflexes took over. After ducking low, I smashed my fist into Tweedledee’s groin. He gave an agonised grunt and fell with a thud to the ground.
Whoosh. Wham. Tweedledum came at me, fists jabbing in methodical motions like a boxer. Jaw clenched in a snarl, I ducked his punches, biding my time as I was slowly pushed back into a corner. My experience made me keep my composure while adrenaline flooded my veins.
The chance came. I stepped wide with my left foot, swung my right leg behind him and kicked back. Tweedledum tumbled. I pulled him backward with his arms and flipped him over my right hip. As the man crashed onto the ground, I corked my hand, ready to deliver a death blow.

"No!" Carl shouted, a terrified tremor in his voice.

Carlos's POV

"Your first time folding clothes."
I'd been admiring him so much I'd forgotten everything else. His words made me look at my handiwork and my cheeks heated. How did he know it was my first time?
"I-I'm sorry if it's not up to your standard." I felt inadequate and silly that I couldn’t fold my own clothes well.
"You did a good job."
"I did?" Warmth spread across my chest at his approving words.
"Yes, you did. Come here."
I didn't need a second invitation. I hurried to him.
Placing both hands on either side of my face, he stared at me for a minute, the expression in his eyes completely unreadable. Then he jammed his hands into my hair, tugged my head back, and lowered his lips to mine.
I melted against him. In contrast to the hardness of his body, his lips were soft. Full and soft. His tongue explored my mouth. Hungry. Seeking. Savouring. I groaned, grabbing onto his bare back and rubbing my cock against him.
He broke the kiss. Nuzzled my chin, my neck. Bristles scoured my skin. Callused hand wrapped around my dick. I gasped for air, leaked pre-cum like a tap. A thumb swiped and he spread the moisture, using it as lubricant as he jacked me.

I really liked this book.  It has action, romance, mystery and more.  I haven't read the first book in the series however I wasn't confused at all.  In this new world homosexuality is once again not accepted by the general population.  Organized crime rules this new rule and being a gay man is a definite no and will get you killed.  Dante is on a person mission to find out what happened to his parents.  Since his mission is personal and not business he is a little more relaxed than usual and decides to visit the only gay club.  There he meets Carl; there is just something about the boy.  Dante is easily 10 years older than Carl but when he thinks Carl is in trouble he doesn't hesitate to rush to help him.  Carl is just as taken with Dante as Dante is with him.  They form a bond very quickly and a one night stand could turn into more.  While out the next day Dante notices someone following them and sends Carl into cafe ahead of him so that he can talk to the man following them.  He learns that Carl set him up the night before and can't believe he let someone in and fell for a trap.  Carl is the son of Dante's enemy.  He is mad at himself and at Carl; he doesn't stay for any kind of explanation just leaves and doesn't look back.  However this isn't the last time these two will see each other.  Did Carl trick Dante to set him up to help his father or just to get Dante's attention for himself?  What will happen when Carl's father finds out?  The mafia world has strict rules and traditions.  Dante has to be careful of everything he does.  There are lots of people who would like his job and kill to get it.  Being gay on top of that would make him a bigger target if certain people found out.  Carl has grown up never having to really work for anything.  He is about to find out what it is like to have nothing.  His father is a ruthless man and everyone does want he wants or he makes them pay.  Carl is the disposable son and his father has always seen him as a disappointment.  Carl hates everything about his father and older brother.  He doesn't know that Dante is in the same line of work as his father.  What will he do when he finds out?  This book was a great read and I have picked up the first one to read it.  The story was well written and the characters draw you in.  I look forward to reading more books in this series in the future.

Although I’m new to writing MM Romance, I’ve been a reader and lover of the genre for many years. I love writing about gangsters with heart, good men who do bad things to survive in a crazy world. Men who love as fiercely as they fight.

When I’m not helping other authors promote their works, you might find me in a coffee shop, day dreaming about how the cute couple in the corner fell in love. You can also find me online ogling images of hot men, which I do share, btw.
